Holiday cheer is not cancelled this year, in fact our community has rallied around the season offering a variety of socially distanced events to carry on with tradition. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite local events and I encourage you to take advantage of this festive programming as you soak in our glorious “winter” weather. I’ve linked each event for convenient clicking and reserving.
Keep things simple with a romp through Pinecrest Gardens which is all lit up for the season now through the New Year. I’m also a fan of driving through The Enchanted Place of North Miami for the same bright reason – this neighborhood is the best kept secret for Christmas light ogling all accessible by car. Another car-based event is a real throwback – New World Symphony is performing their “Sounds of the Season” program at the drive-in Dezerland Park. Tickets are still available (while tickets to the Nutcracker in Doral Park are all sold out).
Seize the opportunity for some daytime gift hunting at Fairchild Garden’s Holiday Market this weekend. Favorite local plant and artisan vendors will be there to share their best and offer a wonderful way to support small business. The Society of Young Jewish Professionals is throwing their annual Christmas Eve MatzoBall digitally this year, connecting young singles in the area in a socially challenged year (book now, space is limited!). And finally, sprinkle some historic beauty into your calendar with holiday evening strolls through Vizcaya Museum and their lighted gardens.
You truly can’t go wrong when it comes to celebrating this significant time of year with your QuaranTeam. So deck the halls with your finest mask and come together with your neighbors to light the way towards a brighter 2021!
